A long-established multi-national mining company was wrestling with the demands of a challenging new environment, social and governance agenda. A new corporate website was the focus for a campaign to re-engage with a universe of different stakeholders — communities of affected sites, pressure groups and the media, as well as customers, employees, suppliers and investors. The client's digital agency invited us to develop the content for a new corporate website, and in turn demonstrate a new, universal tone of voice for the company.
We created copy that replaced whole paragraphs with short phrases. We wrote content for all the main pages of the new site, cutting the previous word count by more than half. In developing language around stakeholders’ talking points, we evolved a new way for the company to speak plainly to the world about its purpose, value, and responsibilities as a global steward.
